Bengaluru, Feb 23: Ex-Agnesians in Bengaluru had a fun-filled, nostalgic reunion when they came together for the annual alumni meet at Catholic Club here.
It was a heart-warming sight to see Agnesians, walk in for registration from 10 am to 10.45 am. Over a 160 Agnesians gathered and at 10.45 am, when the formal programme began.
MC for the day Dr Vibha Marla welcomed the gathering and invited the president Hilma Roach and the guests Sr Supriya, principal of St Agnes College Mangaluru, and Sr Jeswina, vice-principal of St Agnes College, Mangaluru to the dias. Prajwal Mathias led the gathering singing ‘God is our Strength’.
Hilma Roach then greeted and welcomed the gathering with her wonderful speech. She said, "A year has passed by on wings of speed and here we are again meeting up as alumni of St Agnes College. I know it is not easy to sacrifice Sunday mornings but it feels so good to see all of you who have come here to meet each other and to express your solidarity with your Alma Mater."
This was followed by insightful talks by Sr Supriya and Sr Jeswina who had come all the way from Mangaluru to be a part of this event.
The report for 2014 was read by Shoba Pinto, followed by the expense report by Yvonne Rasquinha. She then conducted the elections and Hilma Roach was unanimously requested to be president. It was overwhelming to see many who volunteered to be committee members. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prajwal Mathias.
Dr Vibha Marla did a splendid job in conducting the games and keeping the crowds spirits up. A sumptuous lunch followed and Agnesians got together to share and compare notes, get reacquainted with old friends and make new ones.
Bengaluru Chapter thanks all its generous sponsors Asha Colaco, Laxmi Rai, Hilma Roach and Vibha Marla and Sheela John for contributing towards the expenses. It was indeed great to see Agnesians from Mysuru,Tumakuru etc join in the celebration with the Bengaluru girls.
