Mangaluru, Feb 15: Miscreants pelted stones at Juma mosque at Bajpe and at the Idgah which comes under its jurisdiction late night on Saturday February 14.
The miscreants broke the window panes of the mosque and the Idgah.
Panambur ASI, Bajpe circle inspector and other police personnel visited the spot.
Popular Front of India (PFI) chief Athavulla, Majeed, Nazeer, Riyaz and others arrived at the spot and urged the police officials to arrest the culprits at the earliest.
Bajpe Juma mosque president Muhammed and chief secretary Ismail Engineer have filed a complaint with the police.
A case has been registered in Bajpe police station and investigations are on.
Meanwhile, stones were also pelted at Al Bukhari mosque and Noorul Huda Madrasa at Bachalike near Kunjathur. The incident came to light on Saturday.
The mosque's name board was torn down and its window panes damaged. Buntings within the mosque premises were also found to be ripped.
A case has been registered in Manjeshwar police station based on the complaint filed by mosque president Abdurrazak.
