Mangaluru, Feb 14: The cast and crew of Tulu movie 'Chaali Polilu', which has completed a successful run of 100 days in three theatres in the city, celebrated the milestone with a gala event at Don Bosco hall here on Friday February 13.
The film has been produced by Prakash Pandeshwar under the banner of Jayakirana Films.
Addressing the gathering, well-known litterateur and former vice-chancellor of KSOU Dr Vivek Rai said, "Chaali Polilu has created history. People will accept this movie even if it is dubbed in other languages. There is a good massage in this movie. The audience in theatres are seen sitting in rapt attention till the end of the movie. This movie is a complete family entertainer. It can be used as a reference for future movies and artistes."
Dr Hansaraj Alva said, "Cinematography of 'Chaali Polilu' is in par with international movies. This movie has uplifted the status of Tulu film industry. This movie is not at all boring even for a second."
Director Virendra Shetty Kavoor said, "We always wanted to make a Tulu film. The producer kept trust in me. This is not just my work, it is a team effort. We had confidence that our movie would be successful but never expected it to this extent. We thank the audience for their support. Our movie has achieved success only because of their support."
Actor Arvind Bolar was bestowed the title of 'Tuluva Manike', Bojaraj Vamanjoor the title of 'Navarasa Raje' and Laxman Kumar Mallur was conferred the title of 'Ranga Bhushana'.
Sanjeeva Dandakeri, Richard Castelino, T A Shrinivas, Jagannath Nala, Devadas Kapikad were chief guests.
Producer Prakash Pandeshwar was felicitated by representatives of journalists ok Dakshina Kannada. All the cast and crew of the film were presented with momentos.
The film with a budget of Rs 60 lacs has grossed more than Rs 2 crore so far.
Kadri Navneeth Shetty and Chetan Pilikula compered the event.
