Mangaluru, Jan 1: SYS, K C Road Center held a free mass wedding ceremony under the aegis of ‘Santwana’ for the third year in succession at Kotekar’s Noor Mahal on Wednesday December 31.
Al Hidaya Jumma Masjid Khatib Assayyad C T M Saleem Thanjal conducted ‘dua’. Udupi district composite Khazi Al Haj Khazi Ibrahim Musliyar Bekal led the ‘Nikah’ ceremony.
Karnataka SYS state president Al Haj K P Hussain Sayadi, K C Road, who spoke after presiding over the programme, said that some people are hesitating to get married in mass weddings. “It is not correct. Unnecessary expenditure can be prevented in mass weddings and all should support such weddings. Each Muslim ‘Jamat’ should hold discussions on this,” he said.
SSF leader K M Aboobacker Siddik Montugoli, SYS Talapady center president U B Mohammed Haji, Talapady unit’s Dr Abdul Khader, Masjid president Abbas Haji, Taj Steel’s Moiddin Bawa, Ibrahim, Nazir KCR, Monuhaji Madooru, Bawa Haji Pilikooru, and Sattar Haji K were
present. SYS K C Road center chief secretary N S Umar compered the programme.
Malar Arastana residents Mansoor and Rameeza, Barebuttu residents Ashraf K and Ayishathul Bushra, Mardal resident Abdul Saleem and Ramlath Sahana, Koppa residents Raza Bakshar and Ramla Begum and Kokkada residents Aboobacker Siddik and Hajira were wed in the programme.
