The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, has sanctioned a research grant of Rs 14.76 Lakhs for the research project titled: ‘Irradiation Supported Design and Study of Non-linear Optical Materials for Photonic Applications’, under Dr Rajesh Kumar PC, associate professor in the department of Physics at St Joseph Engineering College - Vamanjoor, Mangaluru, on the recommendations of the Board of Research in Nuclear Science (BRNS). The grant consists of a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) with a salary of Rs 16,000/- for the first two years and Rs 18,000/- as Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) for the third year. Grant also includes fund allocation of Rs 3.6 Lakhs for two research equipments viz., a Spin coating machine and Ultrasonicator. The grant is for three years starting from the financial year 2014-15.
