Bantwal: Youths get platform to exhibit their talents in youth Mela

Bantwal, Dec 7: “Youth has a responsibility of upholding the values of national pride to keep the coordination for the betterment of society”, said district in charge minister of Dakshina Kannada Ramanath Rai, after inaugurating the state level youth Mela at Vittal, on Saturday, December 6.

The youth Mela was jointly organized by Dakshina Kannada district administration, sports and youth ministry , Bantwal Taluk panchayat, Taluk youth federation Bantwal and award winning youth association of Vittal.

“The society becomes stronger when the youths try to excel. The youths should unite in making the society more beautiful. Youth movements have created revolution in the past”, Rai added.

“Youths should get a platform to showcase their talents. If the youths are not given proper chance, they will surely excel in their life. Youth melas give them a chance to explore their talents", he opined.

Abhayachandra Jain, youth and sports minister, said that Vittal has succeeded in holding this mela in an efficient manner.

Dharmadhikari of Dharmastala, Dr Veerendra Heggade presided over the inaugural programme.

MP Naleen Kumar Kateel appreciated the efforts of Ramanath Rai and Abhaya Chandra Jain for organizing this event in a rural place like Vittal to highlight the rural talents.

Asha Thimmappa Gowda, Dakhshina Kannada zilla panchayat president who inaugurated the exhibition said that rural teams who participate in the mela should get monetary help to buy kits.

“The youth is facing the dangers of the implications of cinema and modern inventions. They should contain the influences with the observation of cultural and ethical values”, Dr Heggade said during his address.

“Youths should realize that cinema is an illusion. They should channelize their positive energy for the national, state, society and personal development. Our people are doing wonders in the fields of sports, software and education. If anybody says that there is no chance for achievers, then it is a lie. I wish the best for the mela and pray for its success”, Dr Heggade added.

B S Malleswamy who retired recently as Tehsildar was felicitated by Dr Veerendra Heggade.

The band march with magic show led by Rajesh from R K Arts Vittal was held during the opening ceremony where all the dignitaries offered flowers to the drums with Rai symbolically beating the drum.

Joyous and harmonious participants could be seen throughout the function which made Dr Heggade mention about it by saying how it touched his heart.

Puttur MLA Shakunthala Shetty, Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat education and health committee president C K Chandralaka, zilla panchayat member Shailaja K T Bhat, Chandraprakash Shetty Thumbe, Vittal gram panchayat president Bhavani Rai Kolya, Reserve bank director Naveen Bhandary, Mangaluru assistant commissioner Ashok , ZP executive officer Tulasi Maddineni, Bantwal acting Tahasildar Mohammed Isaac, Taluk panchayat executive officer Cyprian Miranda , organizing committee president Madhav S Mave, V N Sudharshan Padiyar, Taluk sports officer Naveen P S, youth leaders V S Lokraj, Subhaschandra Shetty , sovereign editor Anantha Krishna Hebbar were present.

M S Mohammed read the introduction of the programme. Sadashiva Prabhu welcomed. N R Umesh proposed vote of thanks and Ramachandra Rao compered the programme.
