Mangaluru, Nov 25: Street play is a very effective medium when it comes to spreading social messages. The visual appeal and the dialogues spoken remain in the audience’s memory.
St Aloysius College of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT), conducted a street play to spread awareness about the importance of blood donation. After gathering a large number of people to witness the same, the troupe performed at 3 different locations- Beeri (Kotekar), Deralakatte and Thokuttu.
The troupe performed a street play on awareness on blood donation. Through this medium, they delivered to the large audience, key messages like need and importance of blood donation to save one’s life, and also gave aware of the misconceptions surrounding it.
Sanjeeviniblood donation camp will be held at St Aloysius College (AIMIT), Beeri campus, on November 26 from 9 am to 3 pm.
Faculty coordinator Ravi Kudtarkar and student coordinator Falen Lasrado, chose the correct locations as they wanted to reach out to the right target audience. The students wore coordinated costumes while they enacted various possible incidents, and used music to attract the public. This helped the audience to get engrossed in their performance.
The energy throughout the performance was high which made the act interesting to the very end.
