Udupi, Nov 5: Udupi district BJP Mahila Morcha staged a protest seeking justice for suspicious death case of Nanditha Theerthahalli, at Clock tower, here on Wednesday, November 5.
Sheela K Shetty condemned the increasing sexual harassment on woman in the state. She said that the matter was shameful and alleged that government has completely failed in controlling the sexual abuse.
During the protest, she urged the government to have separate schools for girls. The government should provide security for girl children. The government should also provide Karate training for girls to make them strong in self defence.
The district BJP members demanded the resignation of minister of state for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar and home Minister KJ George.
ZP president Savitha S Kotian criticized the inhuman activities and opined that now protest was becoming essential to wake up political persons. All atrocities towards women were shameful.
These issues would create panic in public and insecurity about their children. She stressed that strict actions have to be taken and the case has to be handed over to CID for further investigation.
Both home minister and education minister have to break their silence and take immediate measures for security in school environment, demanded the protesters.
Shyamala Kunder, state secretary, Reshma Uday Kumar, Geeta Shet, Sandhya Ramesh and Geethanjali Suvarna, among others were present for the protest.
