Mangalore, Nov 2: Adlabs Cineplex here had a special treat in store for the senior citizens of the city.

The nine o'clock show on Thursday November 2 screened the popular movie 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' for the inmates of various old-age homes of the city. About 200 elderly people watched the movie and enjoyed every bit of it.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Balakrishna Shetty of Adlabs Mangalore, said that this was an opportunity given to the elderly section of our society which is otherwise neglected. It was evident from the expressions on their faces that they thoroughly enjoyed the experience, he said.

When asked why Adlabs chose this particular movie, he replied that Lage Raho Munnabhai was a movie that was not only well made but also reflected on the closeness of the generation gap between the elderly and the youth. It speaks of values such as respect to elders and mutual understanding between the two generations, which is an important issue in today's scenario.

He further said that it was also aimed at letting the elderly know that they too have a place where they can watch movies in a comfortable environment which is also elderly-friendly in terms of facilities.

It was an elder-day out, at the end of which each of them had memorable two hours to carry with them back to their neglected, routine life.
