Udupi, Oct 28: Shooting for the Kannada film ‘Anweshi’ was held at Hoode beach near the city on Tuesday October 28.
The beach had hundreds of curious onlookers jostling for space to get a glimpse of the actors in action despite the shooting occurring during the early morning and continuing till lunch time.
Anweshi is a thriller cum horror cum mystery movie. The story is unraveled by the protagonist who is an amateur journalist. He involves himself in research work on ‘sixth sense’ or premonitions. The movie deals with the various experiences the hero encounters throughout his journey.
Thilak is the hero of the movie while Anitha Agarwal, Tamil-Malayalam film actress, is the female lead. The co-actors are Smart Raghu (Raghavendra), Naushad, Deepak, and Raghu Ranjan. The other heroines who have acted in this film are Shruddha Sharma, who is known for her appearance in Big Boss (Hindi) Season-5, and Navya.
The script writer and director of this film is Vemagal Jagannath Rao, an established director in the Kannada film industry. He has directed 13 films such as ‘Sri Adiparashakti’, mythological film ‘Tulasidas’, ‘Kampana’, ‘Gaya’, and ‘Nurondu Bagedante’, including some in other languages.
According to Anitha, she has done four to five films and this is her third film with Rao. “There are a lot of differences in Kannada when compared to Tamil and this is very casual in nature. Udupi is very close to Kerala and is a very nice place to hangout,” she said adding that this was her first visit to the city and the Krishna temple which she saw two days back.
Within two to three days, the film shooting will be partially completed. There are five songs of which one song will be shot in Bangok. By December, the film will be released. The team will remain in the city for 10 days and the complete shooting schedule will come up to 40 days.
Rao says that the specialty of this film is its unique character, story, and theme. “All film songs have been completed by music director Hemanth Hubballi. The producer of the film is
Jayaram while Nagesh is the cameraman. The total budget of the film has not yet been estimated,” he said.
“Viewers want change, so we have worked more to ensure the success of this film,” he concluded adding that the whole team was excited and awaiting public response.
