Lagos, Oct 11 (IANS): The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) is sure the national team, the Super Falcons, would win the ninth edition of the African Women Championship (AWC).
Dilichukwu Onyedimma, a board member of the NFA, told reporters in Abuja Friday that the team had players that could deliver in Namibia, reports Xinhua.
The AWC 2014 is scheduled to kick off in Namibia Oct 11 and end Oct 25.
The Super Falcons will play Cote d'Ivoire in the opening day's second Group A match at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, Windhoek.
"Nigerians should expect a good game. I know that the good luck the president of the country gives to every team is going to follow them and they will bring back the trophy," said Dilichukwu who is also the chairperson of the Nigerian Women's League.
She urged the Nigerians to pray for the team for the country's dream to be achieved in Namibia.
