Kasargod, Aug 13: A youth, who was returning to the Gulf region after participating in the engagement ceremony, went missing from Mangalore airport. Now, a lookout notice stands issued in an effort to trace him.
B V Babu (32), son of Kannan from Ravaneshwara in Hosdurg in the district, was employed in the Gulf. When he visited his native place on leave, his engagement had been performed with a girl from Cheerappara ain Nileshwar near here. The marriage date had also been fixed.
Babu, who went to Mangalore airport on July 25 in the company of his brother for returning to his workplace, could not be contacted thereafter. Once Babu entered the airport, efforts made by his brother to reach him on cell phone failed. Later enquiries revealed that Babu had not boarded the flight that day.
After a complaint was filed, policemen of Hosdurg police station took up investigation. They watched closed circuit television camera footages of the airport, and found that Babu, instead of proceeding to board the flight, had come out of the airport. Enquiries made to the taxi drivers at the airport revealed that he had taken a taxi to reach Kankanady railway station.
The policemen have since sent lookout notices relating to this case to police stations located in Kerala and Karnataka. Those having any information about this youth have been requested to contact Hosdurg police station on 0467-2204229.
