Bantwal, Aug 2: A youth was killed and two others suffered injuries in an accident which occurred at Poilody in Navoor village in the taluk on Friday August 1.
Zamir (20), son of Hasanabba, a resident of Akkarangady near Panemangalore, has been identified as the victim of this accident. Muhammed Hanif, a resident of Adyar Totamane and Rizwan from Mardoli in Narikombu village, were injured in this accident.
The car that was moving towards Beltangady from B C Road went wayward and hit a tree after its driver lost control over it. The car which bounced off the tree then hit the boot of a car that was moving towards Mangalore from Beltangady. This car belongs to Eric Deepak Nazareth from Beltangady.
Three persons who were travelling in the car moving towards Beltangady suffered grave injuries. They were immediately taken to a private hospital in Mangalore. However, one of them, Zamir, breathed his last soon. The condition of the other two is stated to be serious.
