Mangalore: Woman crushed to death by train at Ullal

Mangalore, Jul 26: A woman crossing the railway tracks near Ullal met ghastly death on Saturday July 26. The pedestrian was killed close to Ullal railway junction near Someshwar.

The victim has been identified as Lalita (42), wife of Subhash from Bailu near Someshwar. Lalita used to work in a hotel in the city, and was crossing the railway tracks to reach Adka to take a bus to the city to reach her workplace.

A train coming to the city from Kannur hit her. The impact of the accident was so high that the body of women was found tossed to a distance of about 500 metres from the accident spot. Her head was found to have been badly crushed.

The deceased is survived by husband, Subhash, daughter, Shwetha, and son, Ajay. A case in this connection was registered by the railway police.
