Mangalore, Jul 18: The residents of Sullia on Friday July 18 condemned the accusations against Sullia circle inspector Satish Kumar B S, and warned the police department of a vigorous strike if any action is taken against the inspector in this regard.

Addressing a press meet, Dinesh, a resident of Sullia claimed that the allegations against the inspector were false.

"The reports printed in various newspapers are false. People who could not use circle inspector Satish Kumar for their benefit have made these false allegations. The residents of Sullia are hurt by this development. We support inspector Satish Kumar.”

It may be recalled that two women, Shambhavi Wagle and Bharati, had complained to the superintendent of police alleging Satish Kumar of behaving with them in an 'uncivilized manner' and even video taping them when they went to police station to file complaints. They also claimed that he had passed derogatory remarks and issued threats.

It is said that Bharati had taken loan from a co-operative society in the name of Bhanulatha at a low interest rate, and later used the same money for lending business. A person who had taken loan worth several lacs of rupees from Bharathi went absconding, and Bharati wanted to transfer the burden of the loan amount on Bhanulatha, it is learnt. When Bhanulatha did not agree to this, Bharati reportedly registered a complaint of fraud in the Sullia police station against her. "After investigating the issue, the inspector refused to take any action against Bhanulatha, and enraged by this, Bharati with the help of four others alleged him of misbehaving with the women," claimed Dinesh.

President of Dalit Sangha, Saraswati, who spoke on the occasion said that this was a clear example of the misuse of law. "The group that has fixed the inspector in the case makes money by blackmailing people. The lawyer who has filed the case is the advisor of this group. I request the higher authorities not to punish the innocent inspector in this case," she urged.

Another resident of Sullia, Dhanya, said, "It is because of circle inspector Satish Kumar that we are able to walk on the streets even at 10 in the night. It is because of this inspector we women get the respect in the police station. Hence, the higher authorities should provide justice to the inspector and launch a criminal enquiry against the complainant and probe their background. If the police department takes any action against the inspector, the public of Sullia will come to the streets and stage vigorous protests to protect the inspector."

Residents of Sullia Bhanulatha, Rajesh and others were present.

There are different versions with regard to the cop. In such circumstances one should not take the judgement seat and condemn any one.

In cases like these higher authorities make proper investigations and come to a rational decision. Under these circumstance it is not fair to run down any one.

Presently we have a very good Superintendent of Police in Mr. Sharanappa and undoubtedly he will make inquiries before coming to any conclusion.

A classic example of few people supporting the accused Police official who tried to dilute the Rape Charge FIR from Pulakeshi Nagar Police Station, sitting on dharna at shivaji nagar, Bangalore happened yesterday, and today I am seeing few handful people including a white shirt donned person (Politician in making??), a Dalit Woman (Leader??), an accused and two more casuals addressing a Press Conference defending the Police Official and even threatening the Department of facing a strong agitation is remarkable.
It shows how these accused Police Personnel misuse People to put pressure on the Department to charges. They have adapted this this knack from the Politicians. Jai Hind!!

Inspectors in India are Omnipotent and Omnipresent...puppets started dancing....looks like too much collection money is involved....

See our own former PSI Bawa....they made "Sanmaana" to him in town hall a year ago....Jayamala, Prof.Radhakrishna, Chancellor of a private university were all present...saying "Indra...Chandra and Devendra..." to him....

Indian policemen should be provided uniforms without pockets....so its difficult to keep bribe money....
