Bangalore, Jul 8: As much as 61,194.72 acres of land had been granted by the State Government to 214investors in Karnataka to set up industries in the State.
A total of 751 investors participated in the Global Investors’ Meet in 2012 and of them 214 investors had evinced interest to invest in the State.
A total of 34 industrial projects have commenced production, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told JD(S) member Sudhakhar Lal in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.
Siddaramaiah said 41 single units have been granted 26,957.2 acres and 6105.97 acres for 92 units in industrial areas.
For 81 units, entrepreneurs have been asked to acquire lands directly from farmers.
On the demand for special concessions sought by the company from the government, the Chief Minister a cabinet sub-committee would discuss issues related to special concessions to be provided to the firm.
The Chief Minister said Hero Motocorp, a leading two-wheeler manufacturer, will set up a production unit on 200 acres at Mummigatti industrial areas in Dharwad.
The Hero Motocorp would invest Rs 1450 crore to produce 1.8 million two-wheelers annually.
In a reply to the issue raised by leader of the Opposition JagadishShettar during the zero hour, Siddaramaiah said 100 acres has been given to ancilliary units of the Hero Motocorp.
