Dubai, Jun 1: Emirates Pangalites, an association of Pangalites/Shankerpura residing in the UAE, organized a drawing competition for children in the age group of 4-12 years on Friday May 30 at Happy Home Nursery, Karama, Dubai.

This year’s drawing competition, in its fourth edition, saw participation from 4 children who showed great enthusiasm and displayed their artistic talent on paper with flair and a huge dollop of confidence.

The objective of the drawing competition was to provide an opportunity for children to compete and bring out their talents, to create awareness of the changing world, discover and display their hidden talents, and motivate the budding artists to blossom in the field of art.

The competition was held in three regular categories of 4-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years and a separate group for children with special needs, with no age bar.

The programme was hosted by Andrea Cutinha. The association president Noel D'Souza welcomed the gathering. Leora, Candida, Paige and Calvin inaugurated the drawing competition along with chief guest Joseph Mathias, MD, Merit Freight Systems, by painting on the inauguration banner. The chief guest in his speech conveyed his best wishes to the kids and appreciated their interest in participating.

Rinky Duragoa, Sethi and Madhusudhan P K were the judges for the event and they judged the entries with professionalism and expertise.

The prize distribution ceremony was held at 4.45 pm. President Noel D'Souza escorted the chief guests Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld and Dayan D'Souza of Daiji Dubai along with the three judges to the dais. A short review was presented by the judges. They said, the children with their artistic skills were highly competitive and encouraged them for their future achievements.

All the participants were awarded with certificates. In each category, prizes were allotted to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners along with two consolation prizes. Each winner was honoured with trophy, cash prize and a winning certificate. The prizes for all the categories were presented by the judges and the chief guests.

The event concluded with the distribution of goody bags with Britannia biscuits sponsored by Vasu Shetty.
