Los Angeles, Jan 24 (IANS): Singer Mary J. Blige's father Thomas Blige, who was stabbed in a "domestic dispute", is currently in critical condition after undergoing surgery at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The 63-year-old was taken to the hospital Thursday following what police say was a domestic dispute with his former girlfriend, which resulted in Thomas getting stabbed in the neck, reports eonline.com.
Police have reportedly arrested the attacker on a charge of assault with intent to murder.
Authorities said they were called to the Arbors of Battle Creek, an apartment complex at Rambling Road and Capital Avenue Southwest, at 6:58 a.m. Thursday. Police found Thomas in his apartment with three stab wounds, including one on his neck.
The woman was taken to the Calhoun County jail and was expected to be arraigned Friday in Calhoun County District Court.
