Mysore, Mar 20: "I do not know whether Bangalore has become another Singapore as envisaged by former Chief Minister S M Krishna, but we will make Mysore another Kuala Lumpur" said District In-charge Minister D T Jayakumar.

Speaking to press persons after conducting a meeting with officials at Government House here on Saturday March 18, Jayakumar opined that the city was a well laid out city and the contributions of the Maharaja's in that regard were immense. By developing further in a systematic way, the city can be transformed into another Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, he felt.

Srirangapatna, Hunsur, T. Narasipur, K.R. Nagar and Nanjangud will be developed as satellite towns. By starting more industries, IT and BT units, the city can be developed as an industrial city. The airport will also be upgraded soon, he said.

Work an doubling the railway line from Bangalore to Mysore will commence soon. In another two months, the four lane road between Mysore and Bangalore will be ready.

The express corridor too will be completed soon. Discussions will be held with the Railway Minister regarding the extension of rail line from Mysore to Mettupalayam, he said.
