Goa Lokayukta resigns due to 'personal reasons'


Panaji, Oct 17 (IANS): Goa's first Lokayukta Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy has resigned citing "personal reasons", Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said Thursday.

"He resigned citing personal reasons. We have accepted his resignation," Parrikar told reporters at the assembly complex here.

Official sources said Reddy resigned some days back as he wanted to devote time and attention to his ailing wife. The government accepted the resignation Wednesday.

Reddy was appointed March 8.
