Panaji: DKA demands Roman script for Konkani studies in Goan schools

Panaji, Oct 15: In a special meeting convened by Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) to deliberate on the issue of demanding the legitimate and rightful place to Konknni in Romi script in the Official Language Act, it was resolved to constitute a separate front to pursue the above objectives.

It was also resolved to call upon all the legislators and impress upon them about the need to include Romi script in the Official Language Act.

It was also decided to submit a memorandum to the committee formed by the Government to find a suitable solution to the issue of Medium of Instruction in the primary Schools stressing thereby the need to give option of studying Konknni in Romi Script in the primary education.
