Information brochure on the use of vermicompost bins was released on the occasion by chief guest A C Vinayraj, corporator court ward.
Addressing the gathering, J R Lobo said, “This project will be successful if it is implemented in every house and institution and this can be possible if the pollution board and MCC together come forward to subsidize half of the production cost of these compost bins. Foreign countries are clean and tidy as the waste management is carried out by the one who produces the waste himself. If we follow the same pattern and technique in a responsible manner, a better waste segregation process can be carried out.”
