Mangalore, Aug 8: St Aloysius College of Management and Information Technology- AIMIT, a unit of St Aloysius College, conducted a student development programme on “New product Development” and “Visual Merchandising” on August 5 and August 7.
This programme was unique since students had to create new products using heuristic ideation techniques and merchandise these products using visual merchandising techniques.The programme objectives was to bring in the importance of utilizing ideas to create new products for existing companies as well as create concepts that could help in the formation of new companies.
The programme was participative and interactive in its approach. Due to the diverse background of the participants, the workshop also focused and deliberated on issues in business arena which requires expertise and inter-disciplinary approach from various streams like commerce, science, humanities, psychology and design.
About 200 students from St Aloysius College, Mangalore participated in these programmes. More of such programmes will be conducted for the students of other Institutions in the near future.
