Mangalore, Aug 5: Konkani Natak Sabha® Mangalore organized an elocution competition at the Don Bosco Hall here on Sunday August 4. The competition was held in four categories - below 10 years, 10 to 15 years, 15 to 30 years and above 30 years.
In the below 10 years category 9 competitors from 7 Parishes took part in the competition. In the girls category Shaina D’Silva from Bondel Parish bagged first place, Sonal Crasta from Vamanjoor stood second place and Rishel Castelino from Angelore Parish, third place. In boys category Aldon Vinoy D’Souza from Bajpe Parish bagged first place.
In the 10 to 15 years in girls category 27 competitors from 11 Parishes took part in the competition. In ladies category Lish Pereira from Valencia Parish bagged first place, Merula Pinto from Bejai Parish stood second place and Ashel Sequeira from Bondel Parish third place. In gents category, Brian Peris from Gurpur Parish bagged first place, Angelo Sucheth Noronha from Cordel Parish stood second place and Merwin Lobo from Gurpur Parish third place.
In the 15 to 30 years group, 8 competitors from 8 Parishes took part in the competition. In the ladies category Amora Monteiro from Vamanjoor Parish bagged first place, Femina Lolin Moras from Bajpe Parish stood second and Mercita D’Souza from Milagres Parish third place. In gents Category Roshan Goveas from Bondel Parish bagged first place.
In the above 30 years category , 9 competitors from 7 parishes took part in the competition. In ladies category Edna Noronha, from Cordel Parish bagged first place, Sapna Saldanha from Vamanjoor Parish stood second place and Lizzy Fernandes of Paldane third place. In gents category Jacob D’Souza of Modankap Parish bagged first place, Cyril Fernandes from Paldane Parish stood second place and Charles Fernandes from Paldane Parish third place.
Florine Roche, J F D’Souza and Flora Castelino were the judges for the competitions.
Fr Cyprian Peter D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Martin D’Souza compered the programme, convenor Gladys Rego introduced the judges and general secretary Sunil Menezes proposed vote of thanks and announced the results.
