Mumbai, Jan 24 Congress nominee Prateek Patil on Tuesday won the Sangli Lok Sabha seat, defeating his nearest rival and Congress rebel Dinkar Patil by over 80,425 votes in the recently held bypoll.
Prateek, son of Prakash Patil, whose death last year had necessitated the bypoll, secured 2,52,716 votes.
Independent Patil polled 1,72,285 votes followed by Deepak Shinde Mhaisalkar of BJP.
In the Rajapur Assembly bypoll, Congress nominee Ganpat Kadam defeated Rajan Salvi (Shiv Sena) by 42,340 votes, while Congress nominee Shankar Kambli won the aAsembly bypoll from Vengurla constituency, defeating his nearest rival Ramesh Naik (Shiv Sena) by 52,503 votes.
