Mumbai, Jan 19: “Student life is an important phase in one’s life.  It is during this period that one lays foundation for his/her future. But just being bookworms will not help in building one’s future.  One needs to learn to live life to the fullest.  It is better that one aspires to lead a life value based life than a money oriented life.  Only a thought about the society and the people in the society will help one to lead a happy and contended life,” said Fr Paul Vaz, rector, St Xavier’s College here.

He was the chief guest for the scholarship and prize distribution ceremony, jointly organized by Model Cooperative Bank and Mangalorean Catholic Educational Cooperative Credit Society Ltd at Dr Antonio Auditorium at Dadar (W).

Printania Offset's managing director Albert W D’Souza distributed scholarships and prizes to more than 75 students on the occasion.

John D’Silva, working president of the Mangalorean Catholic Educational Cooperative Credit Society Ltd delivered the introductory note.  Directors Benedicta B Rebello and Philip Pinto were also present on the dais.

Frank Lewis, manager, Model Cooperative Bank welcomed the gathering.  Edward Rasquinha, manager of the central branch, introduced the guests to the gathering.  William D’Souza and Alban Fernandes were also present on the occasion.
