Mangalore: Minister Khadar appears in court, records statement

Mangalore, May 21: State health minister, U T Khadar, appeared in JMFC second court in the city on Monday May 20 to record his statement. The court had summoned him in connection with the alleged violation of election code of conduct by him during the bypoll held in 2006 for Ullal constituency.
U T Khadar has been charged with transporting people to an electioneering meeting organized at Bengre relating to the said bypoll.
The then sectoral officer had filed a complaint of violation of election code of conduct against Khadar.
Khadar had also appeared in a number of hearings relating to the case earlier, and recorded his statements.
Defeated candidates of 2006, Chandrashekhar Uchchil of the BJP and JD(S) candidate, Abubaker Natekal, had also been present during the court hearing on Monday.
