Kundapur: Father, young son killed as speeding car hits two-wheeler

Kundapur, Apr 27: A man and his son were killed in a tragic accident at Tekkatte here after a car rammed into their two-wheeler.
The accident occured at around 1 pm near Tekkatte petrol station.
The deceased have been identified as Rajesh Acharya (45), a resident of Kedoor, and his son Sharanu (9), who was studying in standard 4 at Kedoor primary school.
The father and son were riding towards their home at Kedoor, when a Toyota Etios car belonging to Ambika Travels, which was behind them, rammed into their Kinetic two-wheeler while trying to overtake. Both were killed on the spot.
The car was hired by Laxman Shetty to visit Ernadi, Padubidri for Nagamandala puja. He was travelling with his family members Laxmi, Shashikala and Sudhakar, who were injured. The family had come from Kandivili, Mumbai.
The Toyota car has Maharashtra registeration, and was being driven by employee of Ambika Travels. The driver fled from the spot.
The impact of the accident was such that the Kinetic got stuck to the car.
Eyewitnesses said that the car was moving at a high speed and being driven recklessly.
A case has been registered in the Kota police station.
