Mangalore: Two brothers killed in bus accident at Yekkur

Mangalore, Apr 4: Two brothers were killed in an accident when a bus rammed into their two-wheeler at Yekkur here on Thursday April 4 morning.
The deceased have been identified as Umar Rashid and his brother Mohammed Naushad, aged around 22 and 25 years, and sons of Mohammed Abdul Khader. They are said to be residents of Thokkottu.

The brothers attended to loading and unloading work at the old Bunder area in the city. They were going to their place of work on Thursday, when the accident occurred.
Rashid, who was working in a medical store earlier, is said to have quit his job and begun working as loader in Bunder. He had also finished his BCom.
Mohammed, who had one daughter and three sons, has lost two sons at one go. His other son works in a foreign country. Naushad, in spite of being dumb and deaf, was known as an efficient worker.
The accident occured when a Sharada bus plying from Thokkutu rammed into their bike while trying to overtake. Both vehicles were moving in the same direction.
The brothers were killed on the spot.
The bodies were taken to Wenlock.
Mangalore rural police have registered a case.
