M'lore: Committee Demands Immediate Appointment of Lokayukta

Mangalore, Jan 8: Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee, Legal and Human Rights Department submitted a memorandum to the state government, urging for immediate appointment of Karnataka Lokayukta and chairman of Human Rights Commission, here on Monday January 7.

Corruption in Karnataka state has been rising at an alarming rate and many political leader and officers are found to be involved in mines mafia, land mafia and many others. It is sad to say that such corrupt leaders are leading our state.

The locals and the general public have been highly affected. The state lokayukta post is vacant from nearly one-and-a-half year and the department is delaying in appointing suitable candidate for the post. This clearly shows that the state government is indirectly supporting corruption. National leaders like L K Advani and others have been speaking against corruption and misleading the public while they are least bothered to fill the lokayukta post in Karnataka state. This clearly shows BJP government has been supporting corruption, as there is no lokayukta in any of the state governed by the BJP, the memorandum stated.

The BJP government has failed to put under suspension, all the 750 corrupt leaders and officers, those were involved in the mining scam, as per the reports submitted by the ex- lokayukta Santosh Hegde, which proves BJP’s anti-social functioning and rule.

Several SC/ST, backward class people are affected due to violation of law by the officers in the state. Human Rights Commission has been formed for the upliftment of such people in the society, but the government has failed to appoint president for the state Human rights Commission.

The BJP government has not only failed in its functioning, but even the elected public representatives have failed to stand by the common people and support them, it said.

It is a good sign. We want Lokayukta or Lokpal in all ares not only in Karnataka but whole over India. We want to do better work than politicians. Social work, better education for all, good behaviour and culture is our main motto. All should be happy and live peacefully. No quarrels or attacking any religion at any time because we are all brothers and sisters, one family, one nation, Indians. Jai Hind !!!

Hey Jeevan your BJP top leader Venkaiah Naidu demanding for a speciall parliament session to discuss the delhi rape case. Why can't you ask him to also demand for a special session to discuss the Janlokpal Bill. Actually your BJP also don't want janlokpal. There is no Lokayuktha since one and half years in Karnataka. Sab chor hey bhai sab chor.
