New Delhi, Dec 18 (IANS): The Delhi High Court Tuesday expressed its concern over the gang-rape of a para-medical student, who is battling for life, with the judges saying that the incident "troubles us also".
The court's remark came after a group of women lawyers mentioned before the court that some action needed to be taken and a fast track court should be set up to deal with the incident that happened Sunday night.
A division bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Vipin Sanghi said: "It was a brazen attempt by some persons who think they can play with the law and order. We are very disturbed. We are aware of the matter, give us a day and we will look into it."
"We have already discussed what has to be done. It troubles us all. Whatever is required to be done, we would do. Wait for a day or so," the bench said.
The brutal rape and torture occurred when the 23-year-old woman along with her male friend boarded a private bus at Munirka in south Delhi to go to Dwarka in west Delhi after watching a movie.
