Udupi, Nov 26: The social venture philanthropic foundation in Udupi disbursed scholarships to nine meritorious poor students of various local schools at a function organized at Nittur aided higher primary school on November 24.

The function was presided over by Santhosh Carnelio the headmaster of  Nittur higher primary school. Donald Saldanha managing trustee along with Seema Saldanha, trustee gave away the scholarship amount to the individual students.

Addressing the gathering Carnelio appreciated the kind gesture of SVP foundation by sponsoring poor students to pursue their studies.

He also mentioned that the foundation through its various charitable programmes has shown their concern to poor students and the downtrodden.

“The beneficiary students will not only be benefited by the scholarship but also will be motivated to extend such help to the society when they grow up and settle in life”, he said.

He wished all success in the endeavor of the foundation in mitigating the hardships in furthering studies by the poor students.

One of the beneficiary students, Kum Prema thanked the foundation and expressed her desire to help poor students later on in her life in the path as shown by the foundation. Seema Saldanha delivered the vote of thanks.
