Abuja, Jul 7 (IANS): At least four people have been killed and 22 injured in southwest Nigeria in an accident which involved five vehicles, according to the country's Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
Most of the victims in the accident, which occurred Friday in Osun State, were females, Xinhua quoted the State sector commander of the FRSC, Imoh Etuk as saying.
The accident involved five vehicles including a tanker, a bus, a Toyota Hilux, a Toyota Carina and a Honda car, said the official.
"The trailer tanker had break failure and lost control, resulting in a head-on collision with the vehicles coming from the opposite direction," he told reporters, adding that the accident could have been averted had the drivers observed traffic regulations.
