Mangalore: Catholic Sabha Unit of St Vincent Ferrer Parish Celebrates 13th Annual Day

Mangalore, Jun 6: The Catholic Sabha unit of St Vincent Ferrer parish, Valencia, celebrated the 13th annual day recently.
 
City lawyer and Christian marriages registrar M P Noronha was the chief guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Noronha said that the Catholic Sabha that is active in different parishes across Mangalore diocese has nurtured leadership qualities among the youth.  “It’s a welcome sign that many leaders are striving for the betterment of the community and need further strengthening of the organization,” he said.
 
Catholic Sabha central committee president Nigel Pereira, former president Walter Cyril Pinto, Valencia parish priest and spiritual director Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, newly-transferred assistant parish priest Fr Praveen Robert D’Souza, Valencia parish Catholic Sabha president Anil Lobo, vice-president Arthur Pereira, and secretary Margaret Moras, were present on the dais.
 
Nigel Pereira, in a nutshell, explained the activities of the Catholic Sabha as it was started in Mangalore diocese and urged for further strides in this regard.
 
Walter Cyril Pinto urged the community to take an interest in gaining government jobs and also availing state benefits meant for the community.
 
Lobo and Fr Nazareth bid farewell to Valencia parish assistant priest Fr Roshan Crasta who was transferred to Vamanjoor parish during the programme.
 
Comedy troupe ‘Memory’ and mimicry troupe ‘Vismaya Vinayaka’ staged various entertainment programmes. Lobo compered the programme.  Arthur Pereira proposed the vote of thanks.  
 
The programme concluded with sumptuous food on the occasion.
