Kasargod, Jun 6: Union human resources minister Kapil Sibal will lay the foundation stone for the Central University complex proposed to be built at Periya, near here, on Thursday June 21.
CPWD has already handed over the master plan to the university authorities already. There are plans to complete the first phase of work by the end of December. The state authorizes have handed over 310 acres of land located in the limits of Pulloor – Periya gram panchayats. The land that was owned by Plantation Corporation was transferred to the varsity on March 18, 2012. The laying of the compound wall is in the final stages.
The classrooms and headquarters including laboratories and libraries will be built in the first phase, besides the goal of construction of the hostel block. The entire work is likely to be completed by the beginning of the next academic year. The state authorities approved the drawing of drinking water from Munnakadav and Ayamkadav water sources.
