Mangalore, May 22: Thieves broke the house of Elias D'Souza of Kurmbil, Talipady Village and stole the cash, cloths and valuable household items worth Rs.20,000, here on Sunday May 20.
Elias D'Souza, the owner of the house is in Mumbai currently. It was Joseph Peter D'Souza, who looks after the premises, noticed the burglary when he came to clean the house. The copper vessels, sanitary fittings and gas burner and other items were stolen.
A case has been registered in Mulki police station. It is reported that there is a frequent theft and house burglary in and around that area and people are afraid to leave the house and go somewhere.
The locals have urged the police to nab the thieves.
