Mangalore, May 21: The MCC officials carried out a raid in different parts of the city against the ‘Pani Puri’ stalls on Monday May 21. As many as six officials raided nearly 18 stalls in Ladyhill, Kottara, Urwa Store, and continued the same in different parts of Surathkal as well.
Speaking to Daijiworld, MCC health inspector Bharath said that the owner of Kailas Bhel Centre, who owns nearly 70 such stalls in and around the city has given a statement on ‘Samaya TV’ that he has paid money to the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) to run these booths. He said that angered by this, the MCC commissioner asked officials to carry out a raid and remove all such illegal stalls with immediate effect.
Bharath added that unless and until the owner of Kailas Bhel Centre comes to their office and justifies as to whom he has given the money, the raids will go on. It is also expected that raids will be carried out in the city limits on Tuesday May 22 also.
THESE OFFICERS ACT IS EQUAL TO ,PULLING THE PLATE OF FOOD AND THROWING IT FORM THE PERSON WHILE HAVING FOOD.THIS IS REALLY A INHUMAN ACT.DO U THINK THESE PEOPLE CAN HELP POOR PEOPLE.REALLY AFTER SEEING THESE PIC,NO ONE WILL WANT TO ASK HELP FROM THESE GUNDA'S AM SORRY (HEALTH OFFICERS).THIS IS JUST A SHOW OFF .I HOPE AFTER READING ALL THESE COMMENTS THEY REALISE THEIR MISTAKE AND APOLZISE TO THOSE POOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE COME HERE TO EARN THEIR DAILY BREAD N BUTTER.AM ASKING SORRY BEHALF OF THEM TO YOU BHAIAS FOR WHAT EVER OUR OFFICIALS HAVE DONE TO YOU.
Terror activity by mcc
Well done!! a stepping stone for the success of our country.
Whilst I support the action against the illegal street vendors who serve unhygienic food, what is deplorable, is the way in which the officials went plundering the paraphernalia of these vendors, which is quite barbaric. Don't the so called Health Inspectors have civic sense. They were merely trying to show off their authority on these gullible men who were anyway on the wrong side of the law.
Dear Officials,Is it not wrong on your part to dirty the city by throwing the same on the roads.
This is not the correct way to deal these poor fellows just warn them to provide food clean & hygenic.
I am very happy to see that atleast some action is taken against these street vendors. The last time I ate from such a stall didn't go well - giving me a bad stomach ache and the rest is common knowledge. No matter how many warnings we give to such vendors, they will not provide us with hygienic food. All such stalls should be closed down and these raids should raise potential awareness that there is an overseeing authority. All shops should have licenses and especially the food providers should maintian high quality or atleast basic hygiene.I really appreciate the officials. Hope they don't succumb to politics.
spineless action by MCC. If the owner of the stall has given money and made the statement , they would have kept their mouth shut. Now just because their palms are not greased, they take such brutal action of destroying food and taking revenge on an ordinary citizen. Will they do the same to the so called big hotels who too flaunt all norms of health and hygine? Shame on the Officials. They need to aplologise for such gross action.
Dear MCC guysAll over india there are different type & class of people those who cannot afford to have in 5 star hotels like you people. At least you can warn them to provide clean hyginic and this is not the way what you r doingAlso ride some big hotels and see the unhyginic foods there also and they are charging like anything controle on that too do some good work for the nation since you r getting salary
If this official (aarogyadhikaari) has any sense of health or cleanliness of the city, he wouldn't have allowed the food items to left rot on the ground causing health hazzard..
@ Reshma... If someone comes to other state, does the hard work, saves money and buy property in his home town... what is your problem ??? Moreover to the best of my knowledge, Passport is not required for Indian citizen to work in another Indian state...Regarding non-payment of tax, there are thousands of people in Mangalore itself, who earn in crores and evade tax... Regarding the hygiene I agree it is not the most hygienic food, but then every hotel in Mangalore is equally unhygienic as the Bhelpuri stalls or even worse than that... Hope Reshma has eaten out In Mangalore hotels... The act of Corporation officials is barbaric and can not be justified on any count. If at all they wanted the same to be removed, let them issue notice or at least give them time to vacate the area... this kind of acts of destroying and wastage of food is uncultured. Why cant the officials who preaches tolerance amongst people practice the same. Is it because their misdeeds are exposed ??? If the allegations were wrong, they could have booked a case against him rather than doing this inhuman acts... Shame on the MCC officials.
This is only drama. In reality in democratic country like India no authorities/departments/officials can make nothing about keeping the area clean and food hygiene. If you see each nook and corner you will find abundant places like this.Pouncing upon suddenly on certain segments that too on poor people of the society is unethical.Throwing food and damaging property is another sin committed by the authorities.I don't agree with Ms.Reshma's comments that they are hailing from different parts of the country and making money over here. This is democratic country one can go anywhere of their choice and settle there and make property.Nobody can question in this regard. Here the concern is hygiene and cleanliness. If you go and see in certain hotels, restaurants, food courts, eateries they don't bother about the cleanliness and hygiene.
The way they prepare foods, vessels they used for preparation, water they use, utensils etc are very very dirty and filthy which is beyond everybody's imagination. But without any option one has to rely on these eateries just satisfy their hunger and quench their thirst. That is all.I appreciate if the concerned departments/authorities/officials act swiftly rather than inhumanely to detect all these lacunae and set it all right/rectify the things. Not show offs.Don't act like rowdies.
do you do this when you see some food getting wasted? how many time you had done this.
Its a god decision by MCC i agree with that but the way MCC officers behaved like a animals. go and find and arrest those peoples in politics one who is taking bribes doing illegal works dont do with poor peoples.
Very bad scene and the action by the MCC, Such a well educated and well manner people, who works for the MCC, but the way they act like " Gunda's " By the way Ms.Reshma's remarks towards to the action and about the daily bread winner's, doesn't matter either they are other state or etc.. but Citizen's of our Country I believe. At-least they give the new variety of fast food taste which is not available in around Mangalore. Instead of wasting the food by throwing on the road, there is people around in Mangalore street who can get at-least one time meal, such a dirty human being who show the anger on the Food, no sense, animal's act towards innocent people who earn the bread n butter !!!
When our Government official will learn how to live n act towards their own people ? Some people's prediction of 'HAFTA ' is the right thinking because I have good experiences with the same people even Police n Land measuring department n many more. When you go for any reason or help OR work, they make big noise, acting like they do us the favor, So much demand. God only can save them from this dirty job's.
What a great action? Shameless authorites throwing food on destroying the property good way to utilize their power. By doing this kind of raids they think they are samaj sudharaks. If we start inspection on every hotels in Mangalore may be dozen are unhygienic. What they are going to do about it. There are other ways to restrict them but not by throwing food.
Good work done by MCC officials against unhygenic food, but dumping the food on the road!!! is ....... setting a bad example. They must be fined for littering on roads... Who will take this action????? Absolutely no professionalism by the well dressed officers.....
Recently, Kadri SI booked a case against a massage parlour in Kankanadi for alleged activities. But later it's learnt that it was fake and case was filed because no "haftha" was given :-( Now it's a turn by MCC. very pity about the poor pani -puri's :(
Good work done by MCC officials These Bhelpuri stall owners are from other states who earn here, act like poor people, but they have lots of property in their hometown. They don't pay any tax to the corporation. The food thrown by the MCC officials r unhygienic & such food should not be consumed by the people. If people see the process how they prepare such type of foods, no one will dare to eat it.More raids should be conducted by the Health Inspectors & the city should be free from all unhealthy foods.Good luck Health Inspectors
MCC - you talk about food safety. But, we can see the food is thrown on the road. Is it called food safety.
PLZ RESPECT FOOD..The officers who threw the food should be made to starve for few days & makee them realize the imp. of food..Shameless MCC officers,
papadakelna food banjig akun atee central market alpa podu clean unda tula food roadeg dakuna sari atee dadagiri officernakulu karuna churla egee papadakleg malpera auo kasedakleda dambu egee officereg health minsterg dikara
Who are these third class people who have no respect for food? Throwing food on the road and contaminating it. The food particles are going to rot and contribute towards growth of disease causing micro organisms. He calls himself a "Health" Inspector. Irony of ironies!!!
WHAT DO YOU THINK THOSE BOYS ARE SELLING PANI PURI ARE THEY RICH ? HOW CAN A POOR MANS FOOD CAN GIVE ANOTHER POOR MAN? IF MCC GUYS FOOD WOULD HAVE GIVEN TO THE POOR PEOPLE THAN I WOULD HAVE AGREE WITH YOU.ITS A STUPID ACTION BY MCC, FIRST OF ALL MCC SHOULD LEARN TO CLEAN THE CITY PROPERLY,WHY MCC SHOULD GO BEHIND THOSE POOR DAILY WAGE EARNERS HARDLY FILL THEIR STOMACH BY SELLING ON THE ROADSIDE. THEIR CURSE IS ENOUGH FOR MCC PEOPLE WHO IS SITTING AIR CONDITION OFFICE AND DOES NOTHING.FIRST MCC SHOULD GIVE SHELTER AND BREAD FOR THESE POOR PEOPLE. MCC IF YOU CANNOT HELP THEM THAN YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO HARM THEM.
ITS A STUPID ACTION BY MCC, FIRST OF ALL MCC SHOULD LEARN TO CLEAN THE CITY PROPERLY,WHY MCC SHOULD GO BEHIND THOSE POOR DAILY WAGE EARNERS HARDLY FILL THEIR STOMACH BY SELLING ON THE ROADSIDE. Why this mindless so called waited TV report for destroying food on street? Where was he all these days/ Destiny will curse him for sure! Useless MCC officials check the public toilets and adverse effect of it around bus stands of same Mangalore!!
Just Amazing work MCC Health inspectors, Congratulations to you. You should be ashamed of the way in which you have conducted your raids and also a statement made by the Kailas Bhel Propreitor made you to take such action. Have you MCC or any other Government official heard of the numerous allegations the citizens have made on you. So are we going to see you sincerely take action on every matter that is of concern to a citizen. This is a perfect case of covering yourself so that Lokayukta or anyother bodies dont get to you. Do you MCC really think we citozens are fools.? Now my question to you is who is going to clean up the mess that I see in the pictures. Who the hell is going to pay for that. Our taxes are to be used for good of the city and your bribes should be used to clean up!!! You are just shameless you have only proven you havent gotten enough bribe!!
Telephone Number of Mangalore City Corporation 0824-2220345. Friends best is call them. They are our servents.
Instead of solving problems like Corruption these Ego Maniacs go after poor. Crazy Hypocrites!!
Dear health inspectors ,plz plz respect the food atleast if u dont have respect ur self, dont throw them dear ,in our own country thousand of people r dying with starving....plz plz .
My dear Bayya's you should register your brand and work like procter& gamble so nobody can throw your baskets. You paid only hafta to police instead you should have paid some taxes by selling it in the licenced malls and then all ok for MCC.
Health officials are supposed to see that the city is kept clean.... here they are the one's who are messing up the place... speaks a lot about how well they work. Also instead of throwing away the food they should have taken it and given it to the poor atleast.
This is not the way to take revenge on TV statements of someone. Arrest him and bring him in front of same TV channel to disclose who he paid the money to. Throwing food is not the solution nor good. Whether rich or poor everyone needs food. No way of proving ones honesty.
Shame on the mayor Gulzar Banu. They are targeting the poor vendors.
Who said that they are the health officers. They are the Rowdies Goondas in the name of health officer. Is this the way a helath officer do the work. Shame on them. "Kumbala Kai Kala Health Officers Hegalu Muti Nodidu Yake"
So called health officers are spoiling the enviornment by throwing food on streets.A rowdy way of doing it Crush some officers head for doing so.They will no peoples power then.Shame on the government part.Punish those rascals
This is nothing but vandalism from officials who should be upholding the law.Did it take a TV interview to bruise the MCC ego sufficiently to determine that these hawkers were illegal? Or is it that the TV interview made the MCC bullies realize that they were not getting their kickbacks from this operation and so decided to terrorize the innocent?
I can not beleive some Mangaloreans are so heartless. How could they do it to poor stall vendors who totally depend on the income of this small business ? They should have given enough time to them to vacate the stalls instead of destroying stalls and wasting food on the street. Everywhere goondagiri. Where is the law ? Why can't we go according to law instead of forming various groups with full of illiterate, jobless youths and ruling the way it pleases them ? If so, why do we need Police dept. ? It is very hard to beleive it is the same Mangalore as it was before few years.
You have done a good job... but that is not the correct way. Throwing the food items is just like throwing god. Because food is god. You people will beg for food one day.. shame.
Shame on you MCC !. You have chosen the wrong target for your revenge. If you have guts, why dont you go directly to the concerned person and talk?. GOD will give perfect punishment for disrespecting the eatables so cruelly.
Throwing food is not the correct way .. If it is illegal pl make necessary arrangements to stop this kind of business on the road side ...But why wasting the food .. All these days why such raid was not there ? Is this the way the govt depts are functioning ?
Shame ..why they throw food now..only after tv telecast, why they didn't take any action if it is illegal one before itself?India needs answer from MCC
THEY ARE NOT HEALTH OFFICER THEY ARE UNHEALTH OFFICERS...
Inadequate bribe!!
People from other state doing illegal street business causing diseases from years in our city, earning lot of money and finally blaming Our city corporation, Good Action taken by MCC.
Shame on these officials who throwing the food on the ground and acting like they have done great job.
Readers nothing to worry , out of 70 stalls , only 2 stalls are distroyed. Look at the pictures again.
These officers must Kept Away from eating food for a weeks’ time, how can it be called as raid? Shame on you officers go raid the place when there is illegal activity is happening you guys don’t dare to that coz you guys are blessed of such kids
This raid made by our respected health officer( can say most respected after seeing pics) only because of owner has given such money to mcc to run these booths ...???what about that owners those who paying huge amoount to mcc & running illegal activities ???will they going to put raid( altleast not in this way) on their houses only to ask to whom you paid in mcc....??
Total cost involved in damage of pani-poori stalls is hardly around Rs.200/- but the things blown out of proportion amounting to Rs.85000/-crores equal to what happened in Coal Scam. Really strange people of Mangalore. If it's happened in Congress rule - things might have different. When will they improve - god only knows. All media moghuls are in favour of UPA.
People are starving and here these officers who get paid for this horrible act are destroying food like this way. God have mercy on them.Shocking way of destroying and wasting food that God has given....Raid the houses of these officers 1st.
Fast foods are the main source of cancer. Hence there is no harm of throwing these junk foods.
By seeing the photos Can any one can say what MMC tries to prove, It seems like they can do anything whatever they like. There is way of dumping the food if it founds illegal. not by throwing the food on the road and dirtying the whole city. take some action on those officials who gave power to do such acts
If you people not accepted any bribe means you can take legal action on Kailas Pani Poori Centre owner know?
I AGREE THAT FOOD SAFETY MEASURES ARE NOT TAKEN BY THESE ROADSIDE PANIPURI STALLS..BUT FOOD SHOULD NOT BE WASTED LIKE THIS.. AUTHORITIES MAY GIVE WARNING AND ASK THEM TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY..THIS IS HAPPENING BECAUSE OF THE DIRTY POLITICS IN STATE AND CENTER.. CORRUPTED LEADERS ARE NOT BOTHERED ABOUT POOR CITIZENS..
Very cruel way of handling bread and butter of the poor man. Three officers (goondas) were not able to handle one platter of puri's, then how can they handle the needs of the public in their office. Shame on you MCC. There was a better way of handling food. You guys should be fired from the job. Very unfit indeed.
This is absolutely unprofessional way of dealing with complaints. People who have the responsibility to keep public places' sanitation are doing the opposite. What is worse is that they are from so called "Health Department"
What's wrong with you MCC. Just because these poor people cannot challenge you, don't do these kind of things. Handle these kind of cases in more appropriate manner. Really shocking and disturbing to see these kind of happenings.
They shouldn't have destroyed the food,
Statement from Kailash BhelShuru MCC ka KhelHumanity absolutely FailRaaste me khaali dabba aur PailMCC ki khopdi bi khaaliSab jaayein aur lagaayein 'Thel'
This is a horrible way to raid and destroy. MCC is dirtying the city. Just because it is a poor person who cannot file a case, they have harassed them. Even the standard operating procedure has not been followed. Some NGO can take it up with SHRC and even MCC Commissioner would be suspended.Action should be taken, but in a just way.
Disturbing pictures!! On the other hand why double standards? Why BD RSS are allowed for a free run of vandalism on regular basis? This is our Mangalore of today!
Looks like there are people who bash BJP for everything.. What this has got to do with party.I know this wont be published as this news paper is very much baised
See the height of Goondagir! The officer is to be awarded medal in vandalism.( if there is such a medal in democracy!)
Mcc, y dont u start wearing bangles, showing your power on hapless panipuri sellers , shame on you dirty Mcc people , u are the one tat need to be beaten and chased from the city ,
These are not officers they are hafta usuli rowdies
It is confirmed that the bribe has not been taken (90%) or the other way(10%) from the action taken by MCC health inspector Bharath... If they would have taken then there would not be any raid.....They would have ignored the statement given by the owner of Kailas Bhel Centre
Mr. MCC Commisioner, please open your eyes and see what your health inspectors do. How many restaurants they go to in Mangalore in the name of quality check and eat for free with their family.Look at your officers, do they have any respect for food. There are people who starve for food and you and your cronies have scattered it and thrown it around.Shame on your officers and today I really hope that it comes back on you and these officers who disrespected food.
Much disturbing and soul stirring scenes. For those daily vendors it is bread earing business. If they do not work even for one day,it is difficult for them to take care of their dependents needs.MCC,this is not expected from you. Please be kind and compassiante to poor and weaker sections of the soceity.Dont do this by compramisng on your quality rules/business rules or any such mandatory requsitins. Please allow the people to earn their daily bread otherwise curse will be on Mangaloreans....If this would have happened in our neibouring Kerala state, things would have entirely different!!!
Looks like from photos the person in action was the receiver of the bribe.
Shows the quality administration of MCC!!MCC is filled with goondas and are having full support of political leaders it seems..why government not instructs police to take action against corrupt MCC??It insults and shown disrespect for food in general...somebody has to teach MCC how to respect our food..let MCC show agresssion on person and not on food...wasting, throwing food means public should understand to throw MCC body to waste bin.
"SARAKARADA KELASA DEVARA KELASA" what we can expect from these people???
Statement from 'Kailas Bhel'Shuru MCC Kaa 'Khel'Humanity Utter 'Fail'Raaste me Dabba aur'Pail'KhaaliMCC ki khopdi jaa lagaa'Tel'
Shame on you MCC personnel. You may raid the stalls but why you are throwing the food on the road? First of all the food is wasted, secondly the food is thrwon on the road. This is only to divert the bribe issue and all knows that how our politicians and administration works without bribe. God only can save our M'lore.
Well orgainzed stunt !! Officials or Gundas ...whoever! just trying to divert the bribe issues. Shame on MCC "MAHA CORRUPT CORPORATION"
When i opened the link on this website it was looking like a movie stills.. These MCC officials are fit for dramas. Why these people are spoiling the life of poor guys. We know it is harmful. But it is not the right way. A person can die somehow. It is not necessary that he has to die or fall sick by consuming these things. These people come from various parts of India for their bread and MCC is spoiling their livelihood in a harsh way.
MCC.. when you have provided dustbins in the city, why you are throwing the food on road? To show media or public that you are doing some great work or so??
MCC - poor street food guy's cant afford paying Afta...
Why did they spill food items on the road. There is a nice way in carrying out such operations. I feel very sad...
One who throws or destroys Food items, God will make him beg for the same food one day..
Disgusted seeing the pictures. They could have given at least one warning or told the people to pack off from that place with a warning.Iam sure they donot have any right to destroy poor vendor's property. And these MCC officials who are also responsible to keep our City clean, are throwing food on the road. What a shameful act.!!!!Dont throw food, because one day you will beg for same food
Throwing food is not a proper way of action.they could call the owner of Bhel puri stalls and inquire the allegations.
Good job, MCC should remove the entire stall in city, like near Kankanady, Hampankatta, near school, college.Because no place to walk public near main city all the foot path occupied by street vendors, but please don’t. Waste food.
Sadness. So many corrupted ppl, thiefs arnd us are left out free and a poor guy who tries to do smthng for day to day life in a legal way is targeted every now and then..
Truth is punished, whistle-blowers are killed in our land of Karnataka. If MCC has been bribed, it is the Doctrine of Indoor Management to resolve the corruption case by MCC internally and not destroying food items publicly. They are not health inspectors, they are CORRUPT officials and must be thrown out of MCC to start a paani-poori stall.
This is not fair, first give warning before throw out the food on the road. Dont do goondagiri in eating food.
Raid atleast one hotel guys in Mangalore where all stupid things happen. No guts...wasting food. Atleast sieze and serve the poor.
When in godowns of Food Corporation of India - plenty of food items kept for rotton purposely in order to import next consignment - where you people on that time guys?. Let MCC do's there job - don't interpret in middle. They know much more than us. Even in each and every field there are sincere/honest officials present - otherwise system won't work for a day. Well-done MCC carry with your task - target other's also.
Whatever may be the reason. Health officer and his guy's are to be put behind bars immediately. Why police are acting as if nothing has happened. Why is Bajrangdal and HJV keep quiet on such social issues..!!!??? Are they only interested in communal issues..??? In this issue the so called health officer acting as if he does not know anything about health and also he is not bothered about public health..!!!???? Suspend this health officer (goonda) Forever.
hat else can you expect from a BJP ruling state....
HAHAHA gubbi mele bramastra?OMG MCC officials??? or H...do ke fauj... If you guys have real guts then go and raid some of the hotels
shame shame pappi shame mcc...show your matured behaviour,,,rascals!!!road yer niklna poppa barpera clean malpare..
It is very Ironic indeed, the MCC which is responsible for keeping the city clean has conducted this raid in the most untidy of ways. Also, for heavens sake, please don't destroy their property, that's all that they have, they are poor and are just trying to make a living. You insensitive bureaucrats!!!!!!!!! .
Its disgusting that Mangalore City Corporation itself is the culprit.... Was MCC sleeping since these people started their business....its more than 5 years i had been seeing these shops on road side....and now you feel that the business is illegal because the person related to this business revealed the truth...every one knows that may be indirectly the government officialsare corrupted (There are good once too but very less in number)and its now a new thing that as usual you prove that you people (MCC) act to be Satya Harishchandra.....
MCC people are to be sent to jail or them to be served notice illegal food eateries to be banned not polluting mangalore's natural beauty by destroying their produce throwing onto roads. MCC members to have to have common sense as People of man galore are rated ethical all over world. If these poor uncivilized activities like in human attacks on these stalls, what finally MCC got. Is there any one who can Guide the proper civilized way of taming these illegal food joints. MCC Members and ill treating staff, who are also breath the same mangalorean culture needs to learn patience pills from people of other cities.
Oh,godEverybody knows who is giving money and getting money. and let them raid wine shop making illigal bussiness.next day raider will be corner of karnataka where no food and light. and i will expect MCC commisiner should hav some coomon secne that instead raiding without notice let call that gay and make inqiury.I will pray god put MCC officials in his hit list
Sad the way the issue was handled. Firstly the pics speak of HSE issues, child labor, unlicensed activity, a cartel, governmental retaliation, corruption......on the other hand remember Tunisia where the Arab spring gave rise ...there was unemployment and a government official beat up an under employed street vendor and harassed him for bribe who later immolated himself and caused the revolution. I am sure mcc has good reasons but confiscate in a civilized manner and take the owner to task. Give guidlines and reissue licenses based on norms. Don't throw food!!!! No matter what on the streets.
Is this a raid!!!! Somebudy should take action on those MCC wanker....
I agree to the officials for what they did but this is not the way they did throwing food in the street and also harming to the poor people this is not a humanity sign. MCC staff did a good job only poor peoples the can see they have no guts to go and check what happens in rich buddies area.
I blame all the three, the Police department, MCC and the Paan Puri sellers. Without the consent or oral permission (w/o ghoose oral permission will not be given by MCC or Police) the paan puri business will not be operable in every street corner. I am astonished to see how the people consume this kind of unhygienic food on the road side. The Paan puri serving people themselves are so dirty, a consumer should realize how much hygienic this food may be before they buy on the street side.
First we should put that officer in jail and ask him how about others who dose illleagal business ( wine shops and other bar who open till late)..... people should hit that officer on the spot and bring justice for every trade
These govt. officials only know how to get rid of poor people who make their earnings through such small business. Can they get rid of any food stall which is run by a politician or some supporter of BJP or Seva Sangh. This is a story made by MCC officials blaming other people behind the scenes....well done ur salary will be hiked very soon now!
'Lathon Ki Bhooth Baathon Se Nahi Maanthe'
it was utter waste of food and also making the footpath/road more dirty. They could have asked the vendor to vacate with the left over food or given the food to poor/animals etc. The guy has shown sheer arrogance and stupid behaviour while handling this issue. Not even single person praised this act. Keep it up daiji readers.
Pasha, MCC has no direction. Can they prove they are not corrupt...???Let the affected vendors claim damages 10 times what they had lost and MCC be fined for this publicity stunt, and creating a mess in the city. Shame on MCC.Vendors, rise up against MCC thru your unions and your M.P., MLA etc. and teach them a lesson never to forget. Get united soon and claim your compensation.Such stupid thing shud never happen again. Person responsible for this foolish action must be sacked and never been reinstated aggain.
Congrtats MCC,you are best corporation in the world.100 percent corruption free.SAME ON YOU.
Dont throw food, because one day you will beg for same food
Look at the guy in Pink Shirt…Probably we need to gift few pink chuddies to MCC
Why they are disposing food item on public place. Why dont carry it with them and dispose on proper dumping yard?
800 Million Indians live on less than $2 a day, 80% of children below the age 05 are malnourished and more than half of the world's poor are in India, with such alarming statistics it is such a shame to see Government officials throw food on the streets. The entire team of MCC officials should be terminated for their unprofessional behaviour including littering the streets...
The health inspectorna officeg(mallikatte kadri marketda baritt) yaan trade licenceg poditthe, wah vaasane marayere! moonkug deethina kain yaan piday battd biked kulli bokkane dittiny panpe. e vaasaned kullunar e mcc health inspector! yeth clean kudlan deever? yerandala podh vora areg tikkle, nikleg asliyath gottapund.kailaserna tingolda pothuji tojund, aikh e matha gobbu! kelaver panper dever tuper panddh, dever tunaga kelver anchida lokog podh apund.
Shame on you MCC. Even if it is not eatable, can Mangalore city Corporation justify throwing the stuff in the public road? Why no one objected this third rate action? Not even the Daiji camera man???
The way the pani puri stalls were disposed in a hurry makes me think it was a revenge attack by MCC. It goes to prove that we have rowdys working in the govt. There should be a civilized way to tackle any non conformity.Vey Barbaric..
Corruption does exist in City Corporation. Some of the vendors under kuntikan fly over personally told me they pay some of these inspectors to survive. In return they get prior information of the raid, so they close their outlets when the raiding party arrives. They return once the raiding party leaves. I have a story to tell if Daiji wants to publish.
Poor People targeted for not paying Hafta.....
Pani puri mafia... beyond common mans uderstanding.. Sometimes these people keep a watch on public movement to help loot and robbery.
Cheap gimmicks from cheap MCC officials!!
Why Municipality allowed these Unhygenic food stalls on footpath or open place. One Bucket Water enough for them Morning to Evening for Dip Plates in same water! And without Tax.
Food kept ready for the consumption and MCC officers throwing on the road!!!. Disgusting, act like illeterates.
please do not waste food on the streets, very disturbing pictures, sad that no one remebers the many who cannot afford even a single meal a day
It is not right thing to destroy and waste food.Let the officials eat it free if they wish. If it is wrong and illegal on vendors part, make them to eat until they in-digest. Officials do not take to home where all may fall sick except ..u?this can be fed to poor animals.
Badukere budle swamy..........
Uncultured officers,,,they dont know their profession and they are not professionals,,,C the way they are throwing things, atleast thy could have asked them to move away from there...what kind of rule is this?????MCC is goondaism which proved in this picture
I oppose the action by MCC. Instead of spilling the food on road would have collected and distributed to some poor homes or Ashrams. Wastng food aganst society law.
Illitrate health officer, if he educated he will not allow his chamacha's to throw the food roadside as pic shows...
INSTEAD OF DESTROYING OR SPILLING THESE PANIPURI'S.WHY CAN'T THESE PURI'S N OTHER THINGS BE GIVEN TO THE ASHRAM'S......!!!!!
These stupid officers of MCC are not the owners of Mangalore. They are bloody servants of the people of Mangalore. It looks like all (or most) public servants have forgotten the real fact that they are paid by public...!!!???? It is sad to see the food being wasted just for a statement and I believe that statement is 100% true.
Disgusted seeing the pictures. They could have given at least one warning or told the people to pack off from that place with a warning.Iam sure they donot have any right to destroy poor vendor's property. And these MCC officials who are also responsible to keep our City clean, are throwing food on the road. What a shameful act.!!!!Probably because MCC is filled with such uncivilized, ignorant & irresponsible lot, Mangalore environment is still in miserable condition.
this is a stupid action by our corrupt mcc officers. they collecting thounds of rupees from road side sellars.just walk out market road and see they collecting 100 rupees from every road side sellers. and also traffic police collecting hafta every day. no afta no place .i am one of the eyewitness how they are collecting hafta from these poor people. please go to every hotel in mangalore. check their kichen find out how much cleaning is there.
Did you report that these people are health officials? how ironic them themselves have no civic sense, they are throwing food on the street, these fatted men, eat bribe and threw their tanturms on poor people. i agree its unhygenic, but there is a way to handle this. Some hotels in our city are so flithy, not even fit for human to consume food there. When will they raid the hotels? Shame on these white collared ROGUES, they think they rule the world. Every dog has its day remember that!
This is a real disgusting scene. There should be some other way of handling such things..and this act clearly shows how incapable the government officials are.. SAD!!! wasting food is like wasting gold ... how would those officials feel when someone knocks their plates off when they would be having their food ??? and I am shocked to see such activities in a peaceful place of ours ... really sad !!!
what kind of raid is this??? throwing food all over the road....!!!! this taking grudge
These so called MCC health officials could booked for creating hazards of environmental health and hygienic. This shows how the so called MCC Hygienic and environmental health officials are potent enough to do their duty.GOOD NEWS THAT GOVT OF KARNATAKA ALREADY BROUGHT FOOD SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH COMPLIANCE RULES. SO THAT ALL FOOD OUTLETS INCLUDING RESTURANTS NEED TO OBTAIN CLEARANCE BEFORE CONTIUENCE OF FOOD BUSINESS .
Papadakalna Banjig kaar deed dooddu malpunakaleg Dikkara.
THIS IS VERY BAD. FOR ALL THIS MAYOR GULZAR BANU IS RESPONSBILE. SHE IS PROVED THAT SHE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR HER POST AGAIN. SHE SHOULD RESIGN IMMEDIATELY.
This mental officials of MCC should inform these stall before doing this rude act.who the hell they are throwing these items on the footpath?
The bhel puri wallas were raided because they revealed a state secret, not because they were illegal. Wah Raja wah. So all this time the MCC officials knew they were illegal but allowed them to peddal their wares. But tell me, why the wanton destruction of property and throwing away the food, could they have not given it to the poor and hungry or were the officials just showing their jaat. Idjaat ka sawaal hai, kya. Their wrong was they reported it, not that the stall was illegal.
My first assumption was Bajrang Dal,but MCC proved me wrong. They behaved like rowdies attacking shops in communal violence period.Unacceptable Action.Last year all Pani Puri stalls were attacked by Shiv Sena activists, but they had some valid reason.Still I protest their action because of one Pani Puri stall owner's mistake, all stalls and owners were attacked.Mr.Rizwan..I was about to attack you for bribing people to get the wrok done..but your last sentence stopped me.It is very true and touching issue.
Disgusting scene. The entire squad of MCC who carried out this work should be sent to some professional training as to how to handle such stalls. Does the MCC expect us to believe that they do not take any bribe? It is very difficult to catch any
Thank you Mr. Bharath for your stern action. But please do not throw food on the ground where people walk. Instead collect everything and hand over to animal shelter in Shakthi Nagar. Let the animal eat it and appreciate you. Best way to get the things done in Mangalore is to contact Media people and request them politly and problem will be solved easily. I have done this few times and it was very result oriented. Couple of years back I have requested then Health officer Mr. Manjaya Shetty regarding these filthy stalls where every cup and plate is washed in one bucket of water and served the public. I have pointed the stalls in front of KUDCEMP building and near Tejaswini Hospital. But it went on deaf ears. Now media got involved and action started. Just few days back Karavali Ale Media personel helped Me to clean up garbage dump property belongs to Minister family within 3 DAYS. But I could not do it in 10 YEARS. Thanks Media and keep up the good work.
Mr Bharath kumar[mcc health inspector]may not be knowing the exact meaning of hygene. The corrupt MCC officials are now trying to put out the fire created by themselves. This is just a show-off.If they wanted to maintain cleanliness in M'lore, why they just can't stop that bad smell in the centre of m'lore so called Hampankatta just opposite catholic club?why these officials can't change the dirty rusted railing in Hampankatta?why they can't change the un-even chappadi footpath stones in Hampankatta?why they are not cleaning up State bank area which are full of omlette gadis?Just good for nothing MCC.....
It is disgusting to see the MCC officials throw the food on to the street. They could have used polythene bags instead of throwing on to the streets.Having said that the pani puri stalls should be banned in the city as they are unhygenic.People spitting on roads should also be fined.
I feel so angered when someone plays with food. Wish I had a magic wand so I could shove that spoiled food into the stomachs of these corrupt MCC officials. Rightly I can understand that these officials are fully fed and are not hungry when loads of people die of hunger. Utter shame on you MCC. Do not play with Food.
MCC health inspector Mr BharathWhen r u inspecting the Mangalore Markets, open drains!!!We all know your concern towards Mangalorean's health?!
this is nothing but rowdyism from licensed rowdies(government employees). This is nothing but revenge. They will pay one day for insulting food.
Who is going to clean up this mess.......
Totally inhuman act .. The inspectors behave as if they are innocent. Nobody will falsely claim on a TV channel that they have paid money knowning very well the repurcussion of their statement. The whole system in MCC is corrupt. I am one of the persons who has paid to number of officials in MCC to get my things done. This is nothing new. If I follow the path of Anna Hazare, my work will be done only after my death.
Oh God!I am pulling my hair. When will this corruption end? I strongly condemn the action of MCC officials. Where were they for so many days? Why this sudden health inspection. Just go to any hotel in and around Mangalore, they are so filthy. Do they have no eyes on these? So disgusting. Once I visited a hotel in the centre of Mangalore for breakfast. For my surprise the Masala Dosa I found a cockroach.. to whom do I have to complain. Is there any number to complaint in hotels? No more Mangalore hotels..
The MCC may be justified in removing the stalls, especially due to sanitary and public health concerns.Removing them as an act of vengeance, however, indicates misplaced priorities by the Corporation. What strikes me as the most appalling, however, is the fact that these officials seem to think that that road is a garbage dump, where they can simply toss organic food material, regardless of the soiling of public roads. And this too by officials of a body meant to uphold the health and well being of the Mangalorean society. Sad. Please, Sirs, in future raids, dispose of raided material in a more conscientious manner.
It is highly absurd to see officials throwing away food items. If MONEY was there in place of FOOD ITEMS, would MCC officials thrown it away? The mayor of Mlore is accountable for harsh behavior of MCC officials. When she can't control her subordinates, why should she stay in mayor chair? There is a proper way to take action against offenders. Mayor Guljar Banu led MCC failed to do that.
There is a proper way to deal it. It is easy to destroy the foods. Look at other poor nations, they don't even have water to drink. If Owner made some statement, MCC officials should handle the issue's in very sofiscated manner, not that throwing the eatable to street.
Civilized MCC Health officials creating a scene here by throwing food items to the road.It should be disposed with garbage bag and these so called officials has least knowledge about environmental health and sanitation.BUT anyhow with out hafta such kind of petty street vending is highly impossible.Such kind of business certainly not follows health regulations and sanitation.
TRUTH HURTS.
'Vada-pau' changed to Burger'Idiyappam' changed to Noodles'Onion Dosa' changed to Pizza'Just Vada' becomes DonutThanks god still not able to understand for copy-cats what ingredients actual included in 'Gol-gappa or Panipuri' as happened in Mumbai.
There are lot of caterers under Mangalore Corporation limits polluted the environment by releasing the waste to the open drainage and not following the health and hygiene norms. MCC officials should conduct raid on these places and should not wait for Samaya TV trailer.
These pictures are DISGUSTING. This is not the way to conduct a raid by wasting and throwing food all over the road side. It sends a very wrong message to the public in general. Whatever the case may be, it should be understood that food is a precious commodity and deserves respect and hence the MCC officer should be reprimanded immediately.
MERCILESS OFFICIALSLET THEM PROVE THEY HAVE NEVER ACCEPTED ANY FAVOURS OR BRIBES EVER IN LIFE DURING THEIR SERVICE PERIOD.THOWING FOOD ON THE ROAD JUST ATROCITY OF GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WITH POWER.SHAME... SHAME... SHAME....
Very Sad to see the pictures. Wrong step from MCC. Why MCC health inspector Bharath cant go to owner of the Kailas Bhel Centre and ask to whom he has given the money instead of damaging the stalls of poor Pani puri seller.
so funny it is..mcc people conducted the raid and messed up the entire place.. conducting the raid was ok,but why could not mcc officials carry huge black polythene bags and tell the pani puriwalas to dump everything in it,rather than put it all over in the ground.cleaning the mess by making a mess...lack of planning.anyways good work by the health inspector..!!
PLEASE CARRY ON WITH THE RAID UNTIL THE OWNER SPELLS OUT THE NAME.CORRUPTION SHOULD BE WIPED OUT..ONCE THE NAME IS OUT,,SUSPEND THAT OFFICIAL.
In one side NDTV promoting Greenathon, and the other side MCC polluting the city...Why cant they just dispose off the food stuff properly or given it for poor?
In MCC No work is done with out paying.... How can these people be so rude .....
politics.... and a publicity stunt....
