Mangalore, May 17: Mangalore has another feather on its cap as Navya R Shetty baged the top-most place in the SSLC results in the state of Karnataka.
She scored a total of 623 out of 625. Navya R Shetty completed her SSLC education from SVS English Medium School of Vidyagiri in Bantwal.
She is the daughter of Rathnakar Shetty and Prabha R Shetty. Rathnakar Shetty is a commerce lecturer of Government College, Malleswar, Bangalore and her mother, Prabha Shetty is a homemaker.
She basically hails from Hebri of Udupi district.
Speaking to Daijiworld, Rathnakar Shetty, expressed his joy over the achievement of his daughter. "Our motivation and the support of the teachers and fellow classmates is the only mantra she adopted", he said.
He continued that there are equally capable students across the state.
It's Unexpected:
Navya Shetty, who is currently in Bangalore, spoke to Daijiworld and said that she never expected to be the topper in state. "First my neighbour from Bantwal called my dad and informed that I got 623 marks. Later, from TV, I came to know that, I am the topper", said Navya.
Nayya who lost one mark each in Hindi and English, has scored 100% in all other subjects.
"I expected to cross 600 marks, but I am so happy for scoring 623" she said.
"I have not firmly decided about my future studies. I might choose engineering. Becoming a professor is also my ambition" she told Daijiworld.
