Mangalore, Apr 21: Four persons, who have been accused of murdering Abdul Rahiman alias Sanna Puttha (23) from Kannur Borugudde at Kannur near Padil at around 7 pm on March 13 this year along with some others, were arrested by a police team led by rural police inspector, Ravish Nayak. The policemen had, within a week of the murder, taken into custody three persons, Imran, Ismail, and Zakir, who had participated in the dastardly act.
Sanna Puttha was killed by the assailants, by attacking him with lethal weapons, before smashing his head with a boulder. The persons now arrested are Talahat (26) from Faisal Nagar here, Jubbi alias Jubair (23) from Casba Begre, Irfan (21) from Farangipet Arkula, and Saddu alias Saddam (20) from Kannur Borugudde. On being produced in a court here on Thursday, the accused were remanded to judicial custody till May 2.
Sanna Puttha, who was standing near Kannur check post after playing football game on March 13 evening, was chased and murdered by a gang, members of which were hiding nearby. It was widely believed that differences over ganja trade had given rise to a dispute between Sanna Puttha and some others, leading to this murder.
The policemen say that the task now before them is the arrest of those who had provided monetary support for the murder. The police personnel are searching for these persons, and hope to find them out shortly.
