Dubai: Sudhakar Thumbe Elected President of Billawa Balaga

Dubai, Apr 15: Billawa Balaga Dubai elected Sudhakar Thumbe as its president during the 2012 annual general body meeting held recently at Winny's Restaurant, Karama, Dubai.
 
Sudhakar Thumbe, the co-founder of Billawa Balaga Dubai, which was formed in the year 1997 along with Daya Kirodian is heading towards its 15th year. Thumbe, a well know personality in the UAE, is involved in many associations and is also a good social worker.

Speaking to daijiworld he said that as the Sangha is heading towards its 15 year it is great honour to lead the Sangha as president, and assured that he would put in full effort along with the committee members towards the 15th year celebration and also focus towards charity work back home. "Both Daya Kirodian and I had taken a lot of pain to establish the Sangha in the UAE in the year 1997, and today it is one of the most popular community sanghas in this part of the world, and we feel proud of it."

Sudhakar Thumbe and ex- president Chandrashekar requested all community members to extend their full support and assured that charity work will continue with the help of well-wishers and donors.
 

The meeting had earlier commenced with a short prayer.
 
Chandrashekar handed over the meeting reports and other related documents to Sudhakar Thumbe who was unanimously elected as president.

During the meeting, all the activities and programmes conducted during 2011 culminating with the grand success of the blood donation camp were discussed. Special mention was made of the Abu Dhabi Billawa Sangha which was present for the function in large numbers. A list of the monetary contributions and donations by Billawa Balaga Dubai to organizations and needy individuals (over Rs 4,00,000), the bulk of which was provided to people with critical medical needs, scholarship, and welfare of community back home was read out by the general secretary Ashok Bailur.
 
Co-founder Daya Kirodian, ex-president Ashok Anchan and senior committee members Naryan Kundar, Madhav Hejamady, Santosh Suvarna, Santosh Kotian, Sachin Bangera, Pramod Salian, Prashanth Salian and many other committee members was present during the meeting.
 
Sudhir Sanil, vice-president concluded the meeting with vote of thanks.
