Mangaluru: Yellow alert - Thunderstorms likely across coastal Karnataka

Mangaluru, Apr 18: With pre-monsoon showers expected to intensify, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for coastal Karnataka on April 18, 20, and 21.

Thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall are likely in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts during this period.

On Thursday, Mangaluru and surrounding areas experienced a mix of sunshine and overcast skies. Although cloud cover increased in some places, no rain was recorded.

Meanwhile, light afternoon showers were reported in parts of Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu districts.

In Mangaluru, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33°C, while the minimum dipped to 26.1°C.
