Puttur: Two arrested for brandishing lethal weapon on social media

Puttur, Apr 10: The Puttur Rural Police arrested two individuals on Thursday, April 10 for allegedly brandishing a lethal weapon long knife/sword and circulating its image on social media, an act that violates legal provisions.

The accused have been identified as Sujit (36), a resident of Kuriya village, and Puttanna (32), from Aryapu village in Puttur.


The accused are reportedly right wingers associated the Sangh Parivar and Sujit was associated with HIndu Jagarana Nedike earlier. 

A case was registered at the Puttur rural police station on April 9, and an investigation is currently underway. Further legal proceedings will follow based on the findings.

Meanwhile, the duo was produced before court on April 10 in the evening and they have been granted interim bail.
