Mangaluru, Mar 27: The NCC Army, Navy and Air Wings and Youth Red Cross Association of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with the regional blood transfusion center, District Wenlock Hospital, Mangalore, organized a Blood Donation Camp on March 18, at Sahodaya Hall. The primary objective was to meet the increasing need for blood in the city and to create awareness about the significance of blood donation.
The camp began with the inauguration programme. Dr Denis Fernandes, associate professor, dept of history and the director of the Arrupe Block, was the chief guest who spoke on the significance of blood donation. Fr Vishwas Misquith, the finance officer of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), in his presidential address encouraged the doners and congratulated the NCC Wings and YRC for organising the blood donation camp. Antony the in-charge of the Blood Bank addressed the students regarding the process of blood donation and the benefits of donating blood.











The Wenlock Hospital Blood Bank Staff, YRC officers Kavitha and Dr Mahabubali Nadaf and ANO’s of NCC Wings flying officer Dr Alwyn S Misquith, Capt Shakin Raj and Lt Cdr Dr Hariprasad Shetty, NCC cadets and YRC volunteers were present for the programme.
A total of 69 units of blood was collected out of 82 donors.
