SMVITM Bantakal holds annual sports meet

Udupi, Mar 26: The Annual Sports Meet of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal was held in the institute premises on March 19.

Dr B Gananath Shetty, co-founder of Creative Education Foundation, Moodbidri, Karkala was the chief guest for the inaugural function. Inaugurating the event, he said that taking part in sports is very helpful for physical fitness and sports will help to reduce mental stress in busy human life.

Dr B Gananath Shetty distributed the prizes to the winners in the sports competitions on the occasion.

An attractive march-past was held before the inauguration. Niramaya College of Nursing and Allied Sciences students won the best contingent award in the march-past.

Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal of the institute presided over the function. Student sports secretary Sameeksha Shetty administered the oath to the participants and assistant sports secretary Abhishek proposed the vote of thanks.

The event was attended by Rathnakumar, secretary of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust (SSVMET), Paul Suraj, physical education director and faculty, staff and students were present during the function.
