Grooming, self-presentation session held for MBA students at SMVITM, Bantakal

Media Release

Udupi, Mar 10: A guest talk was organised for MBA first and second-year students of SMVITM at the MBA block by Karthik Alva, founder of Trust Academy, Mangaluru. He emphasised that grooming is not just about external appearance but also about internal refinement, including hygiene, dressing, makeup, and body language, all of which contribute to confidence and a lasting impression.

Karthik Alva highlighted three key aspects of self-presentation in interviews: visual image (how we look), vocal image (how we speak), and content image (how we introduce ourselves). Grooming builds professionalism, influences perceptions, and shapes behaviour.

For self-introduction, Karthik Alva advised a structured approach: mentioning the present (current role or activities), past (relevant experience and skills), and future (aspirations and goals). A well-prepared introduction enhances memorability and impact.

He pointed out that makeup enhances natural beauty step by step. Body language, including posture, eye contact, gestures, and facial expressions, play a crucial role in self-presentation. A confident and approachable demeanour leaves a positive impression. Further he said, health and nutrition are essential for appearance and well-being. A balanced diet, proper sleep, and regular exercise contribute to a healthy body and glowing skin. By focusing on grooming, body language, and self-presentation, one can cultivate confidence and make a lasting impact in every aspect of life.
