Groom’s health misdiagnosed as stress, later found to be stage 4 cancer

Dacorum, Mar 7: Ashley Robinson, a 35-year-old chef, initially dismissed his worsening health issues as wedding stress. Despite experiencing severe stomach problems and passing blood, doctors reassured him that it was nothing serious.

While managing a demanding job and planning his wedding, Ashley focused on his big day, unaware of the silent danger growing inside him. After multiple dismissals by healthcare professionals, his condition worsened rapidly, leading to drastic weight loss. It was only after his wife Jasmin pushed for further tests that doctors diagnosed him with stage 4 bowel cancer, which had already spread to his liver.

Following an aggressive immunotherapy regimen, Ashley saw an unexpected improvement, with his tumor shrinking by 90 percent. Though relieved by his progress, he expressed frustration over the initial misdiagnosis, believing early detection could have prevented the cancer from advancing.

Healthcare officials have since responded, urging patients to be persistent about their health concerns. Ashley continues to undergo treatment, remaining hopeful for a full recovery.
