Ajmer, Mar 3: Former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot, during a brief halt in Ajmer en route to Pali, spoke on key political issues, including Dr Kirodi Lal Meena’s uncertain ministerial status, the Bijaynagar rape-blackmail case, and the ongoing Assembly deadlock.

Taking a dig at the state government, Pilot questioned the ambiguity surrounding Dr Meena’s role, stating, “No one knows whether he is a minister or not. If someone has taken an oath, they should either be given responsibilities or relieved.”

Condemning an inappropriate reference to late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the Assembly, he stressed the importance of respectful political discourse. “Speaking ill of a leader who sacrificed their life for the nation is unacceptable,” he said.

Criticizing the BJP’s governance, Pilot alleged that internal power struggles between Delhi and Jaipur have left the government ineffective. “Public welfare is suffering due to BJP’s internal conflicts. Instead of focusing on governance, they are busy with factional politics,” he remarked.

On rising crimes against women, Pilot lambasted the government’s inaction, citing the Bijaynagar rape-blackmail case as an example. “Crimes are increasing, yet the government only gives assurances with no concrete action. The police force lacks direction, and governance is weak,” he asserted.

Rejecting BJP state president Madan Rathore’s allegations against Congress, Pilot turned the spotlight on the government’s inefficiencies. “In over a year, they have only shut down previous schemes instead of introducing reforms. Employment, inflation, and law & order remain unaddressed,” he said.

With Congress actively raising issues in and out of the Vidhan Sabha, Pilot maintained that the party remains united and committed to public welfare.
