Mumbai, Feb 28: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan recently left fans puzzled with a cryptic social media post that read, "Time to go." The unexpected message sparked widespread speculation, with many wondering if the veteran actor was hinting at retirement from films or his popular television show, Kaun Banega Crorepati.
However, during the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, the legendary actor addressed the buzz surrounding his post with his trademark humor and wit.
A promo video shared by the makers of the show featured a light-hearted moment when a contestant requested Bachchan to dance. Amused by the request, he quipped, “Kaun nachega? Arre bhai sahab, naachne ke liye yahan nahi rakha hai humko,” drawing laughter from the audience.
As the show progressed, an audience member directly asked the superstar about his cryptic tweet. Responding with a chuckle, he said, "There was a line that said, ‘It’s time to go...’ so what’s wrong with that?”
Another fan playfully inquired, “Where are you going?” To which Bachchan, in his inimitable style, replied, “It means it’s time to go…” before being cut off by the crowd, who exclaimed in unison, “Aap yahan se kahin nahi jaa sakte!” (You can’t leave from here!).
Putting an end to the speculations, the 82-year-old actor finally revealed the real reason behind his tweet. “Arre bhai sahab, it’s time for me to go to work… What are you guys saying! When we finish here at 2 AM, by the time I reach home, it’s already past midnight. I was writing, and I got so sleepy that I just dozed off after typing ‘Time to go’!” he explained, much to the relief of his fans.
Before posting the tweet, Bachchan had penned a thought-provoking entry on his blog, stating, “Saturation... and the paucity of space... two sides of the same coin... unavoidable... but present, causing the mind to work in deeds that it may never have encountered.”
He further reflected, “The spread of information vast and in multiples, compels one and all to visit each… and by the time one has thought where to go, the influence of the others takes prominence to the extent that the first is lost and forgotten…”
Following this introspective blog post, his sudden “Time to go” tweet added fuel to the speculation, leading to widespread discussions among fans and media.
