Mangalore: New Buildings of Attavar High School and Anganwadi Inaugurated

Mangalore, Jan 11: The newly constructed buildings of zilla panchayat high school and anganwadi centre at Attavar were inaugurated on Wednesday January 11.

State assembly deputy speaker, N Yogeesh Bhat, inaugurated the buildings. Dayanand Pai, who presided over the inaugural, hoisted the flag.


Mohini Dayanand Pai, H Rathindranath, honorary president of Chakrapani Seva Samiti which has adopted the higher primary school in Attavar, Hemavathi P S, headmistress of primary school, city corporators, H Ravindranath and Anil Kumar, Gopalakrishna Kotian, president of Chakrapani Seva Samiti, Ln Diwakar, child development project officer, Gangadhar, and president of school development and monitoring committee, Devaraj Acharya, were present.

In his address, Yogeesh Bhat said that government schools can be developed and nurtured only out of donations from people whose hearts are rich. He wished that there will be a proliferation of donors like Dayanand Pai, who has given financial assistance to most of the government schools in Dakshina Kannada district, and provided buildings as well as various other facilities. He said that self employment initiatives like tailoring in the evenings at the school help people to get self employed in addition to getting education during the day.

Headmaster of the high school, Radhakrishna Bhat, welcomed. Sucheta compered the programme.
