Mumbai (RBI), Jan 26: The newly released book Cyber Vanchane (Cyber Fraud) authored by Vikram Joshi has proved to be an eye-opener for many. “Simplifying complex technological concepts is no easy feat, but the author has done an admirable job in explaining cyber fraud in clear and simple Kannada. The simplicity of the language was what impressed me the most,” said Dr Ganapati Shankerlinga, honorary secretary of Mysore Association, Mumbai.
“This book should be read by everyone who owns a mobile phone, and it would be great to see future works on the potential uses of mobile technology. If such books reach every home, we’ll see a rise in awareness about modern technology,” he added.
The book, written by Vikram Joshi, was unveiled last Saturday evening at the Mysore Association hall on Bhaudaji Road, Matunga East, in collaboration with the Kannada Department of Mumbai University. Dr Shankerlinga addressed the gathering during the event.
The simple yet elegant ceremony was chaired by Dr G N Upadhyaya, Head of the Kannada Department at Mumbai University. Veteran Yakshagana artiste Dr M Prabhakar Joshi, along with Sajjal Joshi and Rishitha Joshi, were present on stage.
“Mumbai’s literary scene has seen tremendous growth, transforming the city into a cultural hub. Vikram Joshi has joined the ranks of emerging writers with his engaging work,” said Dr Upadhyaya.
Speaking about his book, Joshi explained, “We are all, in some way, affected by cyber fraud. The idea for this book came from the growing need to educate society about these issues. With the help of Dr Upadhyaya, I was able to bring this project to life. My goal is to ensure that even those in rural areas have access to information on cyber fraud.”
The event concluded with an introduction to the book by Dr Kala Bhagwat from the Kannada Department, while Dr Purnima S Shetty, assistant professor, thanked everyone for their participation.
